HDLA is so proud to honor Ms. Janet Gonzalez as our Employee of Excellence!
Janet serves as our incredible parent liaison! Since joining the HDLA family during our inaugural year last year, she has hit the ground running with supporting our families, scholars and staff. Janet has played a pivotal role in supporting our school community through her participation on the ELAC committee, our Universidad de los Padres classes and the district LCAP Advisory Team.
Her creative flair can be felt throughout the school office as she finds ways to connect our families to needed resources, creates opportunities for them to be involved in our classrooms and school events and even in her infamous “Question of the Week Board," which gets the staff interacting and engaging in sometimes educational and always fun conversations!
Janet is passionate about Dual Language Immersion and works to educate our prospective families about what our program has to offer for their children, which has resulted in a massive growth of interest for HDLA enrollment. She has also single-handedly created a system of success for access to HDLA as she partners with the HUSD transportation department!
