Last night, Hemet Unified School District hosted its inaugural Superintendent Awards ceremony honoring students from across the district for their academic achievements and exemplary citizenship, as well as the dedication of seven exceptional volunteers.
Students representing every school within the district gathered for an evening of recognition and celebration. Among the honorees were students who have demonstrated consistent dedication to their studies and have shown exemplary behavior in their interactions with peers and teachers. Students were awarded certificates for academic excellence as well as outstanding citizenship. The ceremony also paid tribute to volunteers whose selfless contributions have made a significant impact to their school communities.
Superintendent Dr. Christ Barrett expressed her pride in the students' accomplishments and emphasized the importance of recognizing both academic success and positive character traits. "These awards showcase the diverse talents and outstanding efforts of our students. It's inspiring to see how they, along with our amazing volunteers, contribute positively to our school community and beyond." The Superintendent Awards not only recognizes achievements but also inspires all students to strive for their best in all aspects of their school experience.
The event was attended by school board members, district leadership, school administrators, teachers, proud parents, and community members who joined in applauding the award recipients for their hard work and commitment. The district will host two additional Superintendent’s Awards over the course of the school year giving each school the opportunity to recognize one volunteer, in addition to recognizing two students at each event.
The Superintendent Awards mark the beginning of a new tradition in Hemet Unified that celebrates the dedication, hard work, and positive impact of students and volunteers across the district. Congratulations to all of the honorees!
