HDLA is proud to nominate Maestra Blanca Bárcenas, 7th grade teacher at HDLA, as an Employee of Excellence! Maestra Bárcenas truly embodies what it means to be a dedicated and passionate educator. She always goes the extra mile to ensure her students succeed, not only inside the classroom, but beyond it as well.
This year, she voluntarily opened her afternoons to tutor over 40 students, helping them prepare for the AP Spanish exam. Her willingness to give her own time to support students shows her deep commitment to their future. Even during the summer, Maestra Bárcenas continued to grow as an educator by attending professional development so she could return to the classroom even stronger for her students.
Her impact is felt not only by her students, but also by her colleagues. She leads with kindness, humility, and professionalism, uplifting others and modeling what true educational leadership looks like.
